Our presentation on Trefort-Day
An important part of the competition is scientific outreach and community involvement in our project. In the spirit of this, our team, FRT Fixennem took part in the Trefort-Day event of ELTE Trefort Secondary School, where we held a lecture at the invitation of the physics teachers. With us presented team Candide too, with which the presentation became really inspiring and versatile.
The presenter of Candide outlined the competition and talked about the goals to be achived during it, also mentioning their secondary mission, whereupon we went into some important details, for example the significance of outreach and the background of team dynamics. We too explained our secondary mission, which is a two camera NDVI monitoring system, with the goal of analising the vegetation, contributing to the natural science part of the competition even more. After our lectures Károly Piláth, a physics teacher and mentor of another CanSat team showed their CanSat project, with what the lesson became even more colorful.
For the closing of the event we gave an easy, interactive task to the students: with the use of napkin and thread they could make a small parachute. This was a playful showoff for the competition.
We would like to thank the Community of Physics Teachers at Trefort, we were very pleased toparticipate and we hope that we convinced and inspired the students, to take part in CanSat!
