In plants, the ratio of chlorofil is shown by the reflected light.

We will be observing the ground with two cameras, one recording in the near-infrared (NIR) and the other recording in the visible (RGB) range.
How?
Healthy plants absorb most of visible light whereas in the near-infrared range they reflect most of it. Thisi is used by the Normalised Difference Vegetation Index (NDVI), what we can process the data of the images. Therefore we will be able to determine wether a plant is sick or not.
Influental factors
The health of a plant is multifacorial. For the reason, that the CanSat can only measure atmospheric data, we included some sensors that could find some potential reasons and consequences. Some of these are carbon-dioxide or oxigen concentration and the amount of UV radiation.
